As 2024 begins to wind down, I find myself reflecting on what has undoubtedly been a year of massive growth, change, and transformation. It’s been a rollercoaster—difficult at times, overwhelming and stressful at others—but through it all, I’ve emerged stronger, more focused, and more inspired than ever. I thought I’d take a moment to share a bit of my journey this year with you, as the year comes to a close and I look ahead to what’s next.

A Year of Challenges and Overwhelm

It’s been a whirlwind. From the moment 2024 began, it felt like there was no slowing down. I found myself juggling multiple projects, constantly managing deadlines, and facing the ever-growing demand that comes with being a business owner and a creative entrepreneur. The days were long, and sometimes the stress felt almost too much to bear. Yet, in those challenging moments, I kept pushing forward because I knew that each difficult hurdle was leading me toward something bigger.

It wasn’t just about keeping up with the busy schedule—it was about evolving into someone who could handle it all. I had to learn new ways to stay organized, to prioritize, and most importantly, to ask for help when I needed it. And let’s be real: sometimes it felt like I was just barely keeping my head above water. But with each challenge came a new opportunity for growth, and that’s exactly what 2024 has been all about.

A Year of Struggles: Health Battles That Nearly Took Me Down

First, let’s talk about the toughest part of 2024. Early in the year, I faced some serious health issues that nearly took my life. There was a period where I wasn’t sure if I’d make it through—physically, mentally, or emotionally. The doctors were unclear about what was going on, but the pain and the fear were all too real. I was forced to pause, to listen to my body, and to re-evaluate everything I thought I knew about strength.

But here’s the thing: I fought back. It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t quick, but each day, I fought harder to get better. I pushed through the exhaustion, the fear, the uncertainty, and came out on the other side more determined than ever. That support, from my incredible partner, family, and friends, was a lifeline that I’ll never take for granted again.

Despite the overwhelming moments, one of the most rewarding aspects of 2024 has been the people I’ve met and the connections I’ve made. So many incredible clients have returned to work with me, and I’ve had the honor of building even deeper relationships with them. I’ve also worked with so many new faces this year, each bringing their unique stories, energy, and creativity into my world. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for every person who’s trusted me with their vision.

In addition to my wonderful clients, I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with some seriously inspiring people in the industry—especially in the world of country music. It’s been an absolute thrill to work with talented country artists, helping to tell their stories through the lens. The magic of photography lies in capturing raw emotion and authenticity, and I’ve had the privilege of doing just that with some of the most down-to-earth and inspiring individuals.

On top of that, I had the amazing opportunity to work with the stunning Miss Texas and be involved in the pageant world in both Florida and Dallas. Pageants are such an incredible display of confidence, grace, and passion—and being a part of that energy has been a highlight of my year. Whether it was behind the scenes or capturing the perfect shot, the experience has left me with memories I’ll cherish forever.

The End of One Chapter: The Closing of My Studio

One of the most difficult decisions I had to make this year was closing my studio. It wasn’t an easy choice, and I knew it would be a significant change. But as much as I loved the space, I also knew that it was time to evolve. Closing the studio marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new adventure. Sometimes, we need to make tough decisions to pave the way for even greater things ahead.

A New Beginning: My Full-Time Adventure as a Traveling Photographer

And that leads me to one of the biggest changes of all: my transition into being a full-time traveling photographer. It’s been a dream of mine for years, and 2024 has been the year I finally took the leap. I’ve packed my bags, hit the road, and started experiencing photography in a whole new way. Traveling has given me the chance to capture diverse stories, explore new landscapes, and work with clients from all over the country.

The freedom that comes with being a traveling photographer has been a game-changer. I’ve discovered new places, made lifelong friends, and expanded my creative horizons in ways I never thought possible. The world is full of stories waiting to be told, and I’m so grateful I get to be the one behind the camera capturing them.

The Greatest Gift: My Amazing Marriage

Amid all the chaos, there’s one constant source of love and support that has kept me grounded throughout it all: my amazing marriage. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for a better partner in life. The love and connection I share with my husband has been my anchor, and every day, I’m reminded of how truly blessed I am to have someone who believes in me, lifts me up, and supports my dreams. It’s been a beautiful gift that’s made all the stress and chaos of 2024 feel a little more manageable.

Looking Ahead: Big Plans for 2025

As I reflect on everything that has happened this year, I can’t help but get excited about what’s to come. 2024 has been a year of change, yes, but 2025? It’s going to be the year I own.
