Taking the Holidays Off: A Much-Needed Mental Break from Work, People, and Drama
The holiday season is a time for rest, reflection, and rejuvenation. For most, it’s a time to gather with family, exchange gifts, and count our blessings. But for me, this year is different. It’s a time to take a step back, re-calibrate, and reclaim my peace. I’m writing this post to share something personal—a decision I’ve made to truly take the holidays off, not just from work, but from everything that has been draining me mentally and emotionally over the past year.
The Weight of the Last Year
This past year has been incredibly tough on so many levels. It feels like 2024 has been a whirlwind, and honestly, I’ve been swept up in it. Between the constant demands of work, health issues that have left me physically drained, and the never-ending drama and noise from all directions, I reached a point where I just couldn’t keep going at the pace I was at.
You see, when you’re constantly in “go mode” — handling clients, taking on projects, managing your personal life, and trying to stay ahead of the curve — it can become all-consuming. Add in health challenges that drain your energy and require your attention, and suddenly, you realize you’ve been running on fumes. There’s no more gas in the tank. It’s hard to admit that, but it’s the reality of what I was facing.
The pressure to keep up with everything, to meet every expectation, and to deliver 110% each and every day was exhausting. I had been pushing myself so hard that I had forgotten to listen to my body, to take time for myself, and to say, "I need a break." Mental exhaustion took a serious toll, and the stress started to creep into every aspect of my life. I felt like I was losing touch with who I was, and that was scary.
A Much-Needed Break
So, after a lot of thought, reflection, and a deep understanding of my own limitations, I made the decision to take the holidays off. It wasn’t easy. As someone who’s used to being constantly busy, the idea of taking time for myself felt almost foreign. But I knew it was what I needed to do. I’ve been going full throttle for so long, and now it’s time to hit pause.
I’m taking these weeks to focus on my mental health, to step away from the noise and drama that has been surrounding me, and to give myself the space to truly rest. I’ll be spending this time reflecting on what really matters to me—my health, my happiness, and my future.
A New Beginning for 2025
When I come back, I will be returning with a fresh perspective, new energy, and exciting plans for the year ahead. I’m using this break to re-imagine my work, my brand, and my life. I’m excited to announce that in January, I will be unveiling a new look for my business.
That’s right—2025 will be my year, and I’m starting it with a complete revamp. You can expect:
-
A New Logo: A fresh visual identity that represents where I am now and where I’m headed in the future. It's all about moving forward and embracing the next chapter with confidence.
-
A New Name: A name that better reflects the growth I’ve experienced and the direction I’m moving in. It's time for a change that feels authentic to me.
-
New Pricing: As I’ve evolved, so has the value I bring to my clients and community. I’ve done a lot of soul-searching, and I’m excited to offer a pricing structure that better aligns with the quality and commitment I put into my work.
-
New Projects: I’ve got some incredible projects in the pipeline, ones that will challenge me and inspire others. I can’t wait to share them with you.
I know that the path I’m about to take may not always be easy, but I’m ready for it. I’m ready to push past the limits I once set for myself and to achieve things I never thought possible.
Why Taking a Break Matters
Taking time off isn’t a sign of weakness—it’s an act of strength. It’s about acknowledging that rest is just as important as work. It’s about accepting that you are not a machine and that your well-being comes first.
This break is giving me the time to recharge, to rediscover my passion for what I do, and to focus on what really matters: my health, my happiness, and my goals for the future. It’s not just about recovering from a tough year; it’s about setting myself up for success in the years to come.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As I reflect on the year that has passed, I realize that 2024 was full of challenges, but it also taught me some valuable lessons. It reminded me that self-care isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity. And with that in mind, I’m approaching 2025 with a sense of optimism and excitement.
I’ve learned that in order to build something meaningful, I have to take care of myself first. I have to be the best version of me to create the best work, to be a better friend, family member, and partner, and to make the impact I know I can make.
So here’s to a new year, a new chapter, and a renewed sense of purpose. I’ll be back on January 7th, refreshed, recharged, and ready to take on the world with a fresh vision. I’m so grateful for everyone who has supported me along this journey, and I can’t wait to share what’s next.
Until then, I encourage you to take a moment for yourself—step away from the hustle, embrace the rest you need, and prepare for your own future with renewed energy and focus. Here's to taking time for yourself and making 2025 the best year yet!
See you in the New Year!
