Why I'm Not Celebrating Christmas This Year: A Bold Step Toward My Future

This year, I’m doing something a little different—and it’s probably not what you’d expect. I’m not celebrating Christmas the way I normally would. And before anyone assumes it’s because I’ve lost my Christmas spirit, let me explain why this decision feels right for me and my husband right now.

2024 has been a transformative year for us, and while the world around me is wrapping gifts, decorating trees, and making merry, I’m choosing to focus on something much more personal and profound: securing my financial future. This year is about building something bigger than presents, parties, and seasonal traditions. It’s about building a life, a future, and an empire that will carry us through the next phase of our journey.

A Year of Progress: Paying Off Debt, Reaching Milestones

The biggest milestone we’ve achieved so far? We’ve officially paid off our house! For those of you who have gone through the process of paying down a mortgage, you’ll understand what a weight this has lifted off our shoulders. This wasn’t just a financial win—it was emotional. The freedom that comes with knowing that we own our home outright, without the looming monthly mortgage payment, has been indescribable. It feels like a fresh start, a new chapter, and we are thrilled.

But we didn’t stop there. We’ve also been actively working to build our credit, pay off credit cards, and make sure we have a solid foundation for the future. Every extra penny has gone into eliminating debt. And while most people are diving into holiday spending, we’re being intentional about where our money goes. It’s not that we’re trying to deprive ourselves of joy—it’s that we’re choosing long-term happiness over short-term gratification.

Now, the next goal is to pay off my car. That’s our focus for the upcoming months, and once that’s out of the way, 2025 is going to be all about one thing: financial freedom and no more debt.

In the past, I’ve spent a lot of time dreaming about what I want for myself, my family, and our future. That’s why, for the first time in a long time, I’m stepping away from the holiday hustle and focusing on taking control of my destiny. I’m no longer waiting for the perfect moment or the right opportunity to fall into my lap. I’m creating it.

I’m tired of just hoping that things will improve. I’ve learned that the key to success is taking daily, intentional steps toward your goals. And that’s exactly what I’m doing. I have a clear vision for where I want to be, and it’s time to make that vision a reality.

By the end of next year, I want to be free from all debt, including my car loan, and have my finances organized and streamlined so I can focus on what really matters: building my empire.

It’s a life where I can invest in experiences with my husband, travel, create, and truly enjoy the fruits of our hard work. It’s a life where I am fully in control of my time, energy, and resources.

I’m not just planning for 2025—I’m creating the foundation for it right now. I’ve got a clear, actionable plan, and I’m committed to sticking to it. No more distractions. No more falling into old habits or getting sidetracked by fleeting desires. I’m building something that will last.
